Building climate resilient livelihoods for excluded families

Description:

The project aims at significantly reducing disaster losses (lives and assets) and contributes to the attainment of the Hyogo Framework for Action and the MDGs in developing countries by 2015. The key strategies of the project are focussed on:

 

  • Developing robust farming system models on small land holding which are able to cope up with the disaster risks and climate change impacts.   Developing mechanisms of landscape and natural resource management for sustainability of agriculture support systems
  • Developing appropriate extension and information system catering to the needs of small and marginal woman farmers
  • Advocating the interests of small and marginal woman farmers in developing their adaptive and resilience capacities
