Sustainable Agriculture
and Livelihoods

GEAG promotes sustainable agriculture to ensure
sustainable livelihood for marginalised people.

In India, the economy rests primarily on primary production activities. Small, marginal and woman farmers form the majority in the farming community. To promote sustainable agriculture which can ensure sustainable livelihoods to the marginalized, GEAG focuses on developing and promoting locally adapted farming systems, sustainable and ecological farming practices, conservation of ecosystem services, and building community institutions. GEAG also advocates for policy changes that promote sustainable agriculture.
