Gender and poverty

Gender and social equity are cross cutting issues in all of GEAG’s work. Its field level interventions have immensely strengthened the struggles of poor women and men members in its project areas against poverty and gender and caste based discrimination. The field based interventions are done through a three-pronged strategy:

1. Social mobilization through SHGs, village to state level Laghu Seemant Krishak Morcha and village level federations bringing the two together

2. Sustainable agriculture interventions (techniques, marketing and service centres)

3. Micro savings and credit programmes
